Chloe

Ian didn’t come to bed until the sun had already started to rise. How did I know? Because he woke me up by pressing his naked body up against mine.

“You’re up.” He kissed the back of my neck.

With a yawn, I arched my back into his touch. “I am now. How did it go?”

I knew better than to probe or ask for specifics. Not because Ian didn’t want to tell me, but because him saying anything would ruin his career.

“You know.” He sighed. “You know.” The sigh that left his lips dragged forth memories of the worst of his clients while we were together. The ones who kept him up at night, staring at his phone, and expecting calls that would have him running out the door in the middle of the night.

I turned in his arms, wrapping mine around his neck. “I know.” I kissed him. “I’m glad you didn’t give up on me, Ian.”

His eyes burned with the same fire that scorched a path through my veins. “I’d never give up on you, Chloe. There is nothing in this world that could possibly take me away from you.”

My throat convulsed as I tried to swallow down the emotion that I couldn’t quite control. “I know. Now, are you going to do anything with that? Or just go to bed?”

I felt, rather than saw, the smile on his face as his lips were pressed against my forehead.

“I have to tell you something.” I kept my voice down, glad that my confession wouldn’t be said directly to his face. When Ian’s body stiffened around mine, I quickly added, “Nothing bad. Just. Embarrassing. For me.”

He hesitated, and I felt his neck move as he swallowed. “What is it?”

“I saw you the other day. I walked into your room, and you were stroking your dick. And you said my name.” As soon as I said it, Ian loosened his hold and leaned back so that I could see his eyes.

“What were you doing in my room?” His question wasn’t an accusation. It wasn’t anything but curiosity, and maybe a glimmer of hope.

Time to ‘nut up or shut up,’ to quote one of my favorite movies. “I was coming to apologize. To tell you the truth about the funeral. To beg for another chance with you, if that’s what it took. I don’t know,” I admitted softly.

Ian’s eyes flashed with desire. “Did you like it?”

A nod is all I managed in response.

“Did you think about climbing into bed and helping me finish?”

My mouth watered. “Yes.”

Ian had a dirty side that turned me on. There was no other way to say it or explain it at all. He asked a question, and my circuits fried. Everything logical went out the window, and I turned into a ravenous beast, needing his touch, craving it and everything else that he could possibly give me.

When he slid his lips over mine, applying just enough pressure to show me that he was in control, my body became his.

“I want you.
